Surrounded By God
“The name that has brought revelation, echoing all through the ages – Is speaking to me, still speaking to me”
Whether or not you are aware of God doesn’t change the fact that you are surrounded by him.
My husband Tom wasn’t brought up as a Christian. At the age of 18 he was invited along to a church gathering for students and experienced something of God for the first time. Later that year he gave his heart to Jesus and that changed the trajectory of his life forever. If you speak to Tom he will tell you that his personal revelation of Jesus came when he was 18, but his awareness of God being with him throughout his life was constant. Whether or not you are aware of God doesn’t change the fact that you are surrounded by him.
Lord, you know everything there is to know about me. You perceive every moment of my heart and soul, and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind. You are so intimately aware of me, Lord. You read my heart like an open book and you know all the words I’m about to speak before I even start a sentence. You know every step I take before my journey even begins. You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way, and in kindness you follow behind me to spare me from the harm of my past. With your hand of love upon my life, you impart a blessing to me.Psalms 139:1-5
Take a moment to think about that. God defies the limitations of time and space to take every bit of care to prepare, protect and bless you.
The God who created the heavens and the earth is with you in the present, going ahead of you and following behind you – you are completely surrounded by God.
He knows everything about you right now, he goes before you to prepare the way and he follows behind you to protect you from any harm. The God who created the heavens and the earth is with you in the present, going ahead of you and following behind you – you are completely surrounded by God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you that because of what you have done on the cross I can live confidently knowing that I’m full of purpose, forgiven and fully loved. As I spend the next couple of days devoting time to you, I pray that you would give me more revelation about who you are and who I am in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
